When a Ghost from the Past Comes Knocking… We Don’t Answer.

ree

After a couple of years, someone has attempted to poke their head back into our lives. Someone that, frankly, if we never saw or heard from again, it still wouldn’t be long enough.

The short version? He took a lot of money from us. He pretended to be our friend—when in reality, that "friendship" was nothing more than a means to an end. Transactional at best. Parasite-level at worst.

This is a man who proudly claimed he 'thrives in chaos.' That should have been the red flag waving like it was trying to signal a shipwreck. We ignored it. We were kind. We gave chances. Too many.

Eventually, he overstayed his welcome, poisoned the well, and walked out. Good riddance. We healed. We grew. We moved forward after cutting out that narcissistic rot.

Fast forward to today:

Here he comes, testing the waters. Maybe he’s burned every other bridge. Maybe he’s run out of resources. Maybe he sees us doing well and smells opportunity. My guess? All of the above.

Let me be clear:

He will play the victim. He will twist the narrative. He’ll make it sound like we wronged him. That his current misfortune—manufactured or real as a result of his own doing—is somehow our fault.

He is toxic. He boasts about being 'the smartest person in the room.' He enjoys making others uncomfortable. He thrives on awkward silences and tension because that’s where he feels in control.

But here's what he doesn’t realize:

We are not the same people he once manipulated. We’ve grown. We’ve learned. We’ve healed.

And we’ve burned that bridge down to ash.

Oooh... this sounds like a story in the making. Gets out her writer’s pen. Oh yeah, this is going to be good.
