The worlds I create, the characters in which I breathe life, are very real in my mind. There is nothing crazy about the imagination. It is a playground. A place for us to safely create a better understanding of ourselves and to aid us in understanding the world upon which we rest our feet.
That being said, music is a huge contributor to my works. As a song plays, I imagine a scene playing out in my mind. From there it grows into a story as I progress. Characters emerge. Scenes unfold. It is a thing of beauty. I am able to leap between characters. Feel their pain. Experience their joy. Understand their personality. It is invigorating and inspiring.
The dark characters play an extremely important role in the saga. Without them, life would be boring. Mundane. Without meaning. That is the truth many choose not to admit. Villains are a necessity. They will always exist. Someone will always step up to fill the role of villain, just as someone will always step up to fill the role of hero. The supporting characters wait in line for their turn, if it ever is to present itself. What an amazing world we live in, both physically and within our own minds.
